"My name is Monica Hjelmeland, I am 23 and I've been working with Jill for almost a year now! Jill has changed my life in so many ways! When I met Jill I was not happy with my body, mind, or anything, I was 22 and food was my comfort for everything!  I always had a happy face on for everyone in my life but Jill saw what I let very few people see, my extreme unhappiness! "I was diagnosed as a Type 2 Diabetic, non-insulin dependent. Meaning as long as I maintained a good diet and began an exercise program, I would not need any medications. I began working with Jill on both a meal program and a couple of personal training sessions. I also joined her weekly exercise classes and within 6 weeks my A1C level had dropped and my blood sugars lowered dramatically. Jill takes the time to work individually with you even within a class setting. Her classes are small enough she can maintain a very personal rapport and provide the individual attention if needed. "One day I was reading an article in the Des Moines Register regarding 3 women who had lost a tremendous amount of weight by EATING RIGHT and EXERCISE!  How many times have I tried this in my lifetime?  After reading about Jill Olsen who helped one of the ladies in the article I knew at that instant I needed to talk to Jill.  In a few days I met with Jill and within the week she had me exercising and eating correctly!  She did tell me at our first consult never to weigh myself again!  If she found out that I had she would come to my house and remove any scale found.  I kept my promise...yes we had 2 sets of scales and I even had a couple of doctor visits where I was weighed but I kept my eyes closed so that I would not see the number!  After the first 2 weeks I began to feel different, not only did I feel better, I was happier and I could feel a change occurring.  I had so much energy even after Jill had worked with me one on one, initially I was exhausted but within an hour I was full of energy ready to do more.  It felt great!
 
Why is this time different than any other time that I dieted and exercised?  JILL, she is such a great, positive, and energetic person to have as my trainer.  Plus she knew what I should eat and when along with the correct exercise regime.  Jill got me started on weights and introduced me to the women's evening exercise class which was awesome...I thought there could be nothing better...until she introduced me to kettlebell class...it was the class of all classes for me!  During my 10 weeks with Jill I lost 17 pounds and 16.75 inches total from 5 different measuring points!  Yes I lost with the help of Jill, but I also gained...an awesome friend!  She is the best!

 
Things to remember:
1.  Follow the meal plan that Jill gives you! (I never thought I could eat 6 times a day!  In the end I felt so much better!)
2.  Exercise according to what Jill suggests and attend classes.  The moral support you receive from Jill and other class members is great!
3.  Do not use the scales...period!
4.  Keep a log of everything you eat...not for calories...just so you know what you have ate.
5.  DON'T forget to call Jill when you are finished reading this to set up your first appointment, you will not regret it!
 
My journey with Jill is nowhere come to an end.  She has helped me meet short term goals that will eventually lead me to accomplishing my long term goals!  Be strong for yourself and be happy.
